Love this place. We haven't been here for over 25 years and it is just as good as we remembered. The Swedish Pancakes with Meatballs and Lingonberry were outstanding as was my husband's omelet breakfast. We are hitting the bakery on the way out!
Cute little restaurant with great service! The food was amazing! The Swedish pancakes were delightful! The omelette was gigantic! Overall, quaint little place and highly recommend you stop in when you are in town!
We had lunch at the Swedish Pantry and enjoyed a fabulous meal with excellent service. There is some crazy construction downtown right now, and any difficulty or inconvenience was made worth it by the friendly staff, charming atmosphere, and delicious comfort food. I had the Swedish Meatballs while the others in our group had the Sampler, and we all loved everything we had. My mother-in-law especially enjoyed having Scandanavian food like what her mom made when she was growing up. After we finished our lunch, we browsed the gift shop and bought some beautiful artwork painted by a local artist (and grandmother of the owner)! While I don't know when we'll be back in the U.P., the Swedish Pantry is on our "must visit" list!
Great little place to eat. Our group came here for breakfast. The Swedish based dishes were fabulous and the service was great. Cute atmosphere. Many baked items available to buy at the checkout counter to take with you.
I first visited this place back in 2002-2003 on a work trip. I remembered the food being really good and seeing all the billboards around town for this place. Fast forward to today, 23 years later, it's just like I remembered it. The great food, service, and atmosphere. Tucked away on the one of the main streets of downtown Escanaba, this place serves awesome Swedish inspired breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While a little early for dinner, the Swedish sampler is perfect for a big lunch. Just enough to be pleasantly full but not overly stuffed. Even the Swedish pancakes for breakfast are a good treat. My wife loves making them for breakfast at home and she was raving about how good they were here. Stop in, you don't be disappointed! Also, special shout-out to Jailene. She was awesome and we really appreciate her hospitality and holding my wife's card so we could pick it up the next day.
Great place. Best place in all of Escanaba but thats not much since its one of the only good breakfast places. Enthusiastic servers and a homey environment. Great portions too. Would go to again 101%
Excellent food and good size portions. They serve breakfast all day. Highly recommend their potato pancakes and the swedish pancakes with the lingonberries! Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. A small bakery case in the front and some souvenir shopping also. It had been years since I had last been here so, I was excited to dine here again and was definitely not disappointed!!
Cute little diner with a nifty gift area right in the heart of Escanaba. We tried potato pacakes and the swedish meatballs, everything was excellent! The staff were very friendly. Will visit again next time we are in the area
We were on a lovely Victory Cruise and had no interest in the tours of Eacanaba. We decided to walk into town. We met another couple who spoke highly of the Swedish Bakery. We navigated the torn up Main Street and found this magical place! The Swedish pancakes with lingonberry were the best I have ever eaten (not sure how much that says since I have only had IHOP and homemade). Seriously delicious. My sister had the potato pancakes and I am unsure how they managed to get them So crisp but not greasy. My mom had the apple crisp (apple soemthing) and she raved about it. Highly recommend supporting this local business if you are in the area. 10/10 would make effort to go by here if I were in the area. They have some cute merchandise - was loving the magnet offerings and snapped a picture of one I really liked.
This is a straight up wow! Everything here is home made and it's absolutely delicious! This was the best corn, beef ruben I've ever had ever in my life!! Highly recommend that if you're ever an escanaba, you stop here, this is where you wanna eat!!
